Is Warren Buffett the Best Investor
Warren Buffett is regarded as one of the greatest investors. He is nicknamed the “Oracle of Omaha.” His words are often quoted, his opinions implemented. But, is his fund, Berkshire Hathaway, the fund he runs, any good? Good is always open to interpretation, so I wanted to see how well it has done over the last 5 years. Why 5 years? Well, our economy has been in the tank over that time, but the stock market, (The Dow), has gone up about 6,000 points.
What I’ve found, using Morningstar, is that his fund has gone up 0.45% since 2008! Not very impressive, to say the least. You could get that return with a CD and a lot less risk.
I then compared it to the U.S. Stock fund that I often use. Since 2008, this fund has gone up 35.16%!
That is the difference between the fund I often use versus Warren Buffett!
Hmmm, am I the “Oracle of Wisconsin?”
